Violence Erupts Inside Michigan Church, Suspect Killed by Armed Guard – The American Spectator | USA News and PoliticsThe American Spectator

Hell entered a house of God on Sunday when a man rammed his pickup truck into a Michigan church and began opening fire on congregants.

The incident occurred at around 11:15 a.m. in Wayne, Michigan. According to police, the suspect, 31-year-old Brian Anthony Browning, drove his F-150 pickup truck into CrossPointe Community Church and was eventually killed by church security.

The church’s pastor, Bobby Kelly, told a local outlet that a member of the congregation saw the unfolding event and ran over the shooter with a vehicle, allowing the security staff to shoot the suspect. “He [the suspect] was run over by one of our members who saw this happening when he was coming into church,” Kelly said.

According to the reports, one victim was wounded in the leg as a result of the attack. Police have said that the dead suspect’s mother is an attendant at the church where the attack occurred. Browning himself attended the church occasionally.

Wayne police chief Ryan Strong told the Detroit News, “We are grateful for the quick actions of the church’s staff members, who undoubtedly saved many lives and prevented a large-scale mass shooting.”

Video shows the moment of the attack in the church, where up to 150 individuals were worshipping, including many children, for a Vacation Bible School program. The livestream shows congregants directing and shielding children while the attack unfolded.

Dan Bongino, deputy director of the FBI, said in a statement: “Our leadership and support teams are on the ground, at the scene, in Wayne, Michigan providing assistance and investigative support.”
