Voice Actor Jeff Garcia Dies At Age 50 After Being Pulled Off Life Support

Beloved voice actor and comedian Jeff Garcia died Wednesday at the age of 50 after being taken off life support, according to family members.

Family members told TMZ he died in a Southern California hospital with family and friends around him. Garcia had a brain aneurysm back in the spring causing him to collapse and hit his head, sources said. He recovered, but was sadly faced with several medical setbacks and reportedly suffered a stroke weeks before he passed away.

Garcia appeared on many popular 2000s shows and was best known for his iconic voiceover work in the “Jimmy Neutron” series.

Sources close to the situation told TMZ that Garcia felt unwell and canceled multiple appearances prior to his death, but thought he would be okay without treatment and didn’t go to the hospital.

He was previously hospitalized Nov. 20 with pneumonia and was discharged following a successful recovery, sources said. The star’s health took a turn on Monday, when he experienced difficulty breathing and went to the hospital, only for his lung to collapse Tuesday, according to TMZ.

Fans will forever associate Garcia with bringing Sheen Estevez to life in the 2001 movie “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius” as well as in 59 episodes of “The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.”

Sheen’s popularity led to Garcia reprising the role in the spinoff show named “Planet Sheen,” which began in 2010 and produced 26 episodes.

His many credits include “Barnyard,” “Back at the Barnyard,” both “Happy Feet” movies, both “Rio” movies, “Marmaduke” and “Mr. Box Office.” Garcia established a standup comic career and performed on stage as recently as early November, just prior to his hospitalization.

Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada sang Garcia’s praises, noting he had a big heart and was an avid supporter of the Latino community through his outreach efforts.

“Jeff’s a comedian who needs to be remembered,” he said. (RELATED: Maverick’s Frontman Raul Malo Dead At 60)
