A debate over voter identification laws and the integrity of voter rolls unfolded during an exchange between journalist Ed Henry and attorney Harmeet Dhillon, with both addressing claims about illegal voting and access to identification in the United States.
Henry opened the discussion by referencing statements from Democratic officials who have said that illegal voting is not a widespread issue.
He questioned those assertions in light of efforts to remove ineligible names from voter rolls across multiple states.
Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement
“Democrats like Booker told us for years that there were no illegals voting in America, but if you’re shrinking the rolls by five to 10% a seems like there are some illegals on those rolls, and B are very accomplished women like you, so clueless that you can’t figure out how to get a photo idea. I’m just Just curious,” Henry said.
The remarks pointed to ongoing efforts by states to review and update voter registration lists, with some reporting reductions in the number of registered voters as outdated or ineligible entries are removed.
Dhillon responded by disputing the idea that obtaining a photo identification presents a significant barrier for Americans, arguing that the process is widely accessible and often provided at no cost in states that require voter ID.
“Yeah, no. I mean, this is not really a problem for any American. Every American can go and get an ID. It’s really not difficult. And in fact, over the years, states that have required ID to vote have also made it free for people to be able to get IDs at the state level. So this is a red herring. It’s just kind of fake scare mongering,” Dhillon said.

Dhillon also addressed the issue of voter roll maintenance, citing figures related to efforts to identify and remove ineligible registrations.
She said that tens of millions of records have already been reviewed and removed with the cooperation of participating states.
“and you’re correct about the second point regarding illegal aliens on the voter rolls, we’ve only been able to cleanse with the help of cooperative states, between 55 and 60 million voter records so far, but we’ve referred 10s of 1000s of potential illegal aliens to our federal officials to further investigate,” Dhillon said.
She added that the process of identifying ineligible voters requires careful review to avoid errors, particularly in cases where individuals may share common names.
“And now, every time you have one of these cases, you want to make sure you’re interviewing people and making sure there isn’t a common name or something like that, so we aren’t going after the wrong person,” Dhillon said.
Dhillon said that once those investigations are complete, more cases of ineligible voters could be confirmed.
“But once we’re through with that, I think you’re going to find there are quite a few people who are on the rules illegally and who voted, and Democrats do tell us that never happens, and it absolutely happens,” Dhillon said.
