Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Deputy Director Dan Bongino claimed that a room containing evidence, much of it linked to former director James Comey, was discovered.
Bongino appeared for a Thursday interview with “Fox & Friends,” where co-host Lawrence Jones asked him about Comey. The video can been seen here.
“Does he still have loyalists in the building?” he asked. “Because when I hear the FBI director saying you guys are finding boxes that are hidden — how does that happen in the Bureau?”
“Well, we were there a couple of weeks, and luckily, there were a lot of people up there who grabbed us by the arm the minute we came in and said, ‘Thank you for being here — we need to talk,’” he said. “There are people there who are really horrified at what happened.” (RELATED: Editor Daily Rundown: James Comey Slams New FBI Heads Over Investigative Priorities)
The deputy director added, “And there was a room, and we found stuff. A lot of stuff.”
“A hidden room?” one of the hosts asked.
“I wouldn’t call it hidden — but hidden from us, at least, and not mentioned to us,” Bongino replied. “Then we found stuff in there, and a lot of it’s from the Comey era. We’re working our damnedest right now to declassify it.”
“And just so you know—I get the public. I totally understand people saying, ‘Well, do it now.’ The process is, not all the information is ours to declassify — some is other intelligence agencies. We literally can’t do it,” he continued.
“Once that gets done and that gets out there, and you read some of the stuff we’ve found — that, by the way, was not processed through the normal procedure: digitizing it, putting it [into] FBI records — we found it in bags, hiding under Jim Comey’s FBI.”
Bongino also revealed during Thursday’s interview that the Bureau will be releasing footage confirming that Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide while in prison. The footage will not show Epstein committing suicide but will confirm that he did, the deputy director said.

Bongino accused former FBI Director James Comey’s now deleted “8647” post of diverting agency resources to investigate tips reporting copycats. “8647” is interpreted by many as internet slang calling for killing Trump. He also called Comey a “disgrace” and claimed he was profiting off of his notoriety.
The Caller reached out to the FBI for comment, but they referred back to Bongino’s statements and had no further remarks.
