Westminster keeping an eye on smacking bans in Scotland and Wales

The government in Westminster has said it will examine the impact of smacking bans in Scotland and Wales before making a decision on whether to introduce a ban in England.

Under the current English law, parents are permitted to use ‘reasonable chastisement’, but campaigners want all smacking to become a criminal offence.
