‘When I see ICE, I see SLAVE PATROLS!’

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, doesn’t appear to be interested in de-escalation following the assassination of a political commentator.

The slaying of Charlie Kirk has prompted calls to cool the political atmosphere, which is rife with inflammatory rhetoric, but there are some on the left with no intentions of dialing it back.

Crockett went on MSNBC to reiterate her comparison of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to “slave patrols.” You know, because she’s “someone who understands history.”

Watch:

“But as someone who understands history, when I see ICE, I see slave patrols,” she said. “Now I never lived through the slave patrol period, but if you know the history of policing in this country, then you understand that they were born out of slave patrols.”

This mirrors a statement she made on Friday’s episode of popular podcast “The Breakfast Club,” where she called ICE agents a “rogue policing force” and claimed that people would agree with her “if they taught black history.”

“[W]e’re seeing that they are unleashing this rogue policing force that if they taught black history, they would know about slave patrols. Because when I look at what they are doing with ICE, it looks like slave patrols,” she stated on the show. “And then you’ve got a Supreme Court that’s like, ‘Yeah, you can pick them up because of how they look or how they sound.’”

“That sounds like a slave patrol. Like, that is what policing was born of. So yes, we need to teach history.”

X users have just about had it with Crockett’s absurd claims and incendiary rhetoric:
