Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese argued on Monday that the media should be covering new allegations against former President Barack Obama’s administration as much as it has covered Jeffrey Epstein in recent weeks.
Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard published a declassified file on Friday that she asserted contains “overwhelming evidence” showing Obama and his national security team “manufactured and politicized intelligence” following President Donald Trump’s 2016 win. However, Reese said on “VINCE” that she did not see the allegations covered in Monday morning newsletters.

“I would have loved for this to hit the cycle on Monday and absolutely dominate the news cycle. Because as I’m reading my newsletters this morning, it’s not really — it’s not being talked about,” Reese said. “Mainstream media is grazing right over it. And so that’s where you start to really hope that the [Department of Justice] is engaged in this — that the White House is going to have a hand in how this is marketed and talked about in the media and is going to push this huge, huge investigation.”
“It’s absolutely mind-blowing — and something that needs to be hammered in the media the same way the mainstream media has been hammering these Epstein Files,” she added.
The file shows that there was no evidence to conclude Trump was acting as a Russian asset and that there was no evidence Russia planned to “use cyber means” or “directly manipulate the actual vote count” to sway the election.
The memo accompanying the declassified file accuses DNI James Clapper and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of withholding crucial context and leaving out in their press release that the FBI and NSA [National Security Agency] only had “low confidence” in blaming Russia for data leaks in September 2016.
However, the memo acknowledges “supporting evidence indicating the Russian government directed hacking of the DNC and [the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee].”
The memo also claims “Deep State officials in the [intelligence community began] leaking blatantly false intelligence to the Washington Post.”
Those officials told the Post that Russia had utilized “cyber means” to manipulate the election results and that the CIA had “concluded in a secret assessment that Russia intervened” to benefit Trump.
An Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) whistleblower said they “could not concur in good conscience based on the information available” that there was “a decisive Russian preference for then-candidate Donald Trump,” according to the memo.
Gabbard advocated for everyone involved to be investigated and prosecuted in a Friday X post, adding that she was “turning over all documents to the DOJ for criminal referral.”
Backlash and media coverage about Epstein ramped up after Axios reported on July 6 that a two-page memo showed the DOJ and FBI found that the deceased pedophile had left no “client list.” The Wall Street Journal published an article on July 17 detailing an alleged letter between Trump and the deceased pedophile, prompting the president to threaten a lawsuit over the report.
