A violent road rage altercation on a busy Milwaukee freeway Tuesday afternoon resulted in the arrest of one driver and potential charges for another, following a confrontation that was captured on video and circulated widely online.
The incident occurred in downtown Milwaukee and involved two drivers, one of whom has been identified by police as Mike Chaltry.
Video footage shows Chaltry exiting his vehicle with a stick and smashing the windows of a white Nissan during a traffic stop, drawing public attention to the escalating violence and raising questions about what triggered the confrontation.

The footage shows Chaltry, visibly bloodied, striking the Nissan’s windows multiple times with a stick.
The Nissan reversed and then suddenly surged forward, nearly pinning Chaltry between two vehicles before attempting to flee the scene.
Chaltry pursued the vehicle on foot and delivered another strike before the incident concluded.

In an interview with WISN 12 News, Chaltry acknowledged his role in the confrontation, stating, “I’m not the one who started it.”
He added, “I mean, he was driving like an idiot.”
Chaltry referred to himself as the “face of road rage” in Milwaukee following the altercation.
According to Chaltry, the incident began on the highway when the driver of the white Nissan allegedly attempted to cut him off, nearly causing a collision.
Chaltry claimed that the situation escalated when the same driver followed him off the highway, approached his vehicle at a traffic light, and struck him through the driver’s side window.
“He sucker punched me through the window of my car and broke my nose – I got stitches,” Chaltry said.
“He put my life in danger three times. When he hit me on the highway, when he punched me in the head and when he tried hitting me with his car. I think you saw that in the video. There’s no need for that. I just don’t get it. I was angry, but I had good reason to be angry. He didn’t.”
The Milwaukee Police Department confirmed that the driver of the white Nissan, whose name has not been released publicly, was arrested following the incident.
He is suspected of battery and was cited for operating a vehicle without insurance and without proper registration.
Chaltry’s case has been referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, and he may face charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property, according to police.
Authorities have not released further details about the sequence of events prior to the confrontation or whether any additional charges are being considered.
No formal charges have been filed as of Friday.
The incident remains under investigation by the Milwaukee Police Department.
