Glory to God!
One of the Sunday games in the second round of the NCAA March Madness tournament was a contest between the Iowa Hawkeyes and Florida Gators, who were aiming to defend their championship after winning the natty in 2025.
Iowa guard Bennett Stirtz and his teammates had other ideas, however.
In what was easily one of the best games of the weekend, the Hawkeyes ended up walking away with the 73-72 victory after the smoke was clear following an intense battle. Leading the way for Iowa was guard Tavion Banks with 20 points and 6 rebounds, while guard Kael Combs led the team with 6 assists. It was a magical upset, an example of why we love March Madness, and things got even more magical courtesy of Stirtz.
Following the win, Stirtz took part in a post-game interview with CBS, and immediately gave all glory to God.
“Win or lose, give glory to God. He gave me a platform, I just wanna go use it for Him,” said Stirtz.

I can’t help but to smile every time I hear an athlete praise God in a post-game interview, it’s just a reminder that there’s still a lot of good people out here in a world where it’s easy to get jaded.
God is good, God is good.
