WNBA Hits New Level Of Embarrassment After Game Stops Over … Wig?

I knew women were sensitive about their hair, but damn!

Despite having Indiana Fever phenom Caitlin Clark and her heated rivalry with Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese, the WNBA is a league that you just can’t take seriously considering how dysfunctional it is.

Just look at what happened Sunday in the game between the Phoenix Mercury and Washington Mystics that ended up temporarily halting action. A player lost their wig, and it led to an incredible amount of embarrassment, and yes, more than just stopping the contest.

The player in question was Mercury guard Kahleah Copper, who grabbed her wig and then sprinted off the court back to the locker room. Copper’s wig fell off after being snatched by her teammate Jade Melbourne, who was attempting to get over on a screen. To make Wig-gate even more interesting, this whole situation caused an interesting scene with television broadcasters Meghan McPeak and Christy Winters Scott, who completely circled around talking about the wig crisis. The team just labeled everything as a “malfunction” and tried their best to not talk about it.

And to make it even crazier, a fan ended up getting kicked out of the game for … get this … making fun of the ordeal! I’m not kidding!

That’s not all either, because we also have this tweet from Copper to put the cherry on top:

You can watch the video of the wild scene here.

This is the WNBA, ladies and gentlemen. And this is exactly why I don’t watch.
