This is absolutely insane …
When it comes to fathers who are sports fans, they love to pass on their passion for the game(s) to their sons. I might be a girl dad, but I can relate with my own father, he’s probably the number one reason why I’m a sports fan. But with that being said, he never did anything extreme like what you’re about to read.
Let me introduce you to Bowling Green linebacker Gideon Lampron, who is already making himself known quite a bit as an FCS All-American. But when he was a baby, his dad went all out to guarantee that his middle name would give him that extra push, and seeing how I’m writing about it right now, I guess it worked. After Lampron was born, his mom went to sleep. Keep in mind that the mother wanted to give him the middle name of Xavier. Yeah, that didn’t happen. Instead, Lampron’s dad took advantage of sleepy mom, and get this, gave him the official middle name of “ESPN.”
I’m not even kidding.
“Then she delivers Gideon, and she’s out of it,” said Marty Lampron to the Dayton Daily News back in Sept. 2024, “and the nurse comes for me to sign the birth certificate. When I signed it, I literally printed ESPN in capital letters. She was out cold when I did it. When she woke up, I told her I did it, and she said, ‘No, you didn’t.’ She didn’t realize I did it. She wasn’t happy with me.”
Gideon ESPN Lampron joined BGSU after spending 3 seasons at Dayton.

If it works, it works, I guess.
