At Least 13 People Hurt In Mass Shooting At Lake Arcadia, Officials Say

At least 13 people were injured following a Sunday night mass shooting at a party at Lake Arcadia in Ohio, according to authorities.

The shooting occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. Sunday, the Edmond Police Department (EPD) said early Monday on X. A large group of people, described as young adults, were allegeldy in attendance at the party, according to KOCO. Witnesses told the outlet that a fight at the party preceded the shooting, but police have not confirmed if this is true. Police said they were speaking with witness overnight.

Police said 13 people were transported to local hospitals following the shooting, thought the EPD said others went to hospitals using personal vehicles. Officials from Integris Health told KOCO they are caring for 13 patients from the incident. The alleged victims’ current conditions are unknown, and police have not said if anyone has died. The EPD initially reported 10 victims had been transported to local hospitals in its social media statement. No suspects are currently in custody, according to the same statement. Two men with ski masks allegedly began shooting, according to FOX 25.

EPD spokesperson Emily Ward reacted to the shooting, according to CNN. “This is obviously a very terrifying situation,” Ward said while speaking with the press on-scene. “We are working extremely hard to find these suspects and help these victims”

The EPD came to the scene with assistance from the Oklahoma City Police and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the agency said on social media. The EPD is at the helm of an active investigation, CNN reported. Ward said there was no reason to suspect any active threat to the public.
