Sergio Garcia Obliterates Tee Box, Own Driver In Masters Meltdown

Oh, Sergio … never change.

Considering the circumstances, I’d say that Sergio Garcia had a pretty successful Masters here in 2026, and I’m saying that based off of him making the cut, which hadn’t happened for him since 2022 going into this year. But my man clearly doesn’t agree, and that’s evident of him completely blowing a fuse Sunday morning.

Paired with Jon Rahm, Garcia was scheduled for the third tee time, and the crazy thing is, he was only one hole in before utterly exploding and creating an absolutely wild scene that you just don’t see at the Masters. On the opening hole, Garcia made bogey, and then when he went on to the Par 5 second to hit his drive, he took a couple of hard swings at the tee box prior to cracking and destroying his driver on a water cooler that was nearby. And to make it even wilder, he unraveled before the ball got to its apex.

Honestly, it’s exactly what you would expect out of hot-headed Serg.

Absolutely beautiful Masters this year, I couldn’t have loved it more, and I have to say …

I’m officially laying it to rest, ladies and gentlemen. My beef with Rory McIlroy is over.
