A golf reporter is alleging that LIV Golf exceedingly monitored him amid a wave of rumors that the league could potentially be out of business soon.
Following a report surfacing that the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), the funders of LIV Golf, were considering withdrawing their backing of the PGA Tour rival, Brody Miller of The Athletic took a trip to Mexico City to be in attendance of their most recent tournament in an attempt to get a deeper dive into the situation with LIV. While at the event, Miller alleges that a security officer came up to him and said that LIV was keeping an eye on him.

“But as I walked the property Friday, I was stopped by a LIV security worker,” explained Miller. “He pulled out his phone and showed me a company chat with a large photo of my The Athletic headshot and said I needed to come with him. I asked if there was some sort of security alert sent out on me, and he said yes, there was on Thursday.
I don’t know how they even knew I was on the property Thursday, but I certainly wasn’t sneaking, as my goal was primarily to run into a LIV official and talk. I explained I was just given a credential that morning, which greatly surprised him. He made two calls to ask, and I overheard him say, ‘Oh, he’s OK now?’ before he let me go.”
Miller went on to claim that LIV Golf officials stated that they weren’t aware of a “security alert.”
